While in Rennes, France last year, my nephew talked to me about the homeless men and women that live on the streets. They usually hang out in groups (often very large) and have several dogs with them. I found this highly interesting as I almost never see the homeless here in New York with any kind of animal. He told me that the dogs were not only for companionship but for protection as well.
Although many of the homeless are harmless and mind their own business, there are those that feel that they are a blight on their beloved city, believing that they’re lazy and simply don’t want to work, a common view not only restricted to Europe as many here in the States also feel that their homeless problems stems from this.
